Phillip Evans, Associate Pastor

It is a true blessing to be serving as Associate Pastor here at First Baptist Church of Byram. I have lived in the Byram community since 1980, when my family moved here from South Jackson. I graduated from Byram Attendance Center and attended Hinds Community College. I married my wonderful wife Emma in 1991 and we have four children; Grant, Amy, Alison and Greg.

I served the community for 15 years on the volunteer fire department. I served as an RA teacher, adult Sunday School teacher and a deacon all here at FBC Byram. I know without a shadow of a doubt that God used each of those experiences to prepare me for my call to the ministry. I surrendered to the ministry January 24th, 2010 and after serving as pulpit supply for two years, I was called as pastor to Eastside Baptist Church in Pelahatchie, MS. After serving there for five years, God called us back here to FBC Byram. I have spent a lot of time, some 38 plus years, here among this congregation, and you will not find one more loving and caring than this one. I challenge you to come and see for yourself. I know that God will surely bless you here as He has me and my family for so many years.

Jack Phillips, Associate Pastor of Youth

He received a Masters of Christian Education from Reformed Theological Seminary and began serving as a part-time youth minister at First Baptist Church of Byram as well as teaching full-time as a public high school teacher. Jack is married to Denise McLemore Phillips and they have two children.
